October 26th, Thursday Blue Ridge Fall Railroad & Apple Orchard

Blue Ridge is a warm and charming mountain village nestled in the lush Chattahoochee National Forest of north Georgia. It is known for it's pleasant and unique shopping with friendly folks and an old-time atmosphere. Mercier Orchards is one of the top tourism attractions in GA. It is a family owned and operated apple orchard now in it's 4th generation.
We will visit Mercier Orchards upon late morning arrival in Blue Ridge. You will have time to examine the fruits, ciders, and bakery items awaiting there. You are invited to bring a cooler to stow under the bus, to safely store your purchases for the day.
Then we'll head to the quaint downtown of Blue Ridge for a couple of hours before boarding the 3pm train. Plenty of shops and restaurants abound to occupy your time.
We will take the 3pm Blue Ridge Scenic Railway north from the historic depot in Blue Ridge on a 13 mile one-way trip (1 hour) in deluxe, enclosed rail car. The train ends in the small town of McCaysville, where travelers can straddle the state line between Georgia and Tennessee, putting a foot in each state. We will get off there, and you can shop antique stores, craft stores, walk the old bridge to view the river, and get a bite to eat. The train itself will actually be headed straight-a-way back to Blue Ridge without a layover in McCaysville.
The motorcoach will pick us up in McCaysville to depart by 5:30pm.
All described stops, train ticket, and gratuities are included along with motorcoach ride. Meals are NOT included on this trip. There is plenty of walking involved for you to enjoy these destinations, so it is suitable for persons with good mobility. Jacque & Kent look forward to hosting this enjoyable autumn day trip!

PICK UPS: 8:00am departure Sun City Peachtree, 8:30am from Community Bible Church; Return ~8:30-9pm.
