October 24th, Thursday Blue Ridge Fall Colors & Apple Orchard
Trip definitely a GO.Blue Ridge is a warm and charming mountain village nestled in the lush Chattahoochee National Forest. It is known for it's pleasant and unique shopping with friendly folks and an old-time atmosphere. Mercier Orchards is one of the top tourism attractions in GA. It is a family owned and operated apple orchard now in it's 4th generation. Started back in 1943, they are now celebrating 75 years of fruitful harvest!
Two great options to choose between:
- $110 Both Railway and Orchards! Take the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway from the historic depot in Blue Ridge to McCaysville on a 26 mile round-trip ride (4 hours). The train will have a two-hour layover in the small town of McCaysville, where you can shop antique stores and craft stores, walk the old bridge to view the river, and get a bite for lunch in one of the local eateries. After returning to Blue Ridge, we will take you to Mercier Orchards for a visit before the ride home.
- $65 No Railway... just Blue Ridge and Orchards! Spend time in Historic downtown Blue Ridge and not take the train, There are many unique shops to explore and restaurants to consider for lunch. A self-guided Historic Walking Tour map is also available. We will then head over to the Mercier Orchards for plenty of time to examine the fruits and goodies awaiting there. Enter the code BLUERIDGEONLY at check-out, if you choose this option. It will deduct $45 from the price and we will not reserve a train ticket for you.
The Orchards has a lovely cafe, in addition to all the small town dining available for lunch options.
