Next trip on the itinerary took us to Massee Lane on Valentine's Day. We had a very relaxing, beautiful day at this quiet garden spot. Massee Lane is the American Camillia Society home, and many camillias were in beautiful display in the heart of February! Then on to a terrific soup, salad bar, and peach cobbler at Lane Orchards for lunch. We will definitely return to that lunch spot in the future!
We took a small group of ladies with us to see this absolutely awesome performance. We were so impressed with the quality of the performance, the staging, sound, casting,...everything! Good time was had by all! These first couple of trips were offered "at cost" to the small groups participating...no charter bus involved.
On this first scheduled trip, we escorted a church group on their church bus to the museum... not as a profit making trip. What fun we had! The museum is just fantastic, documenting every different period of history with its own section in the museum. The IMAX options were good, but we missed out on the timing of the "D-Day" showing, which would have been most people's choice to see that day. Terrific lunch at Country's BBQ. Because the group was small enough, we sat in the old Greyhound bus that is part of the restaurant.
